The Pillars Of The Earth

Drama Miniseries / 8 x 1 hour

Adapted from world-renowned author Ken Follett’s international bestseller, the Emmy® Award-winning and Golden Globe®-nominated epic series stars Academy Award® winner Eddie Redmayne (The Theory of Everything), Ian McShane (Hercules), Rufus Sewell (Dangerous Liaisons), Donald Sutherland (The Hunger Games), Hayley Atwell (Captain America: The Winter Soldier) and Sam Claflin (The Hunger Games).

After the suspicious death of King Henry’s sole heir, a power struggle for succession ensues. The Earl of Shiring (Donald Sutherland) is stripped of his lands and title. His daughter, Aliena (Hayley Atwell), is in love with a young mason, Jack (Eddie Redmayne), who dreams of working on Kingsbridge Cathedral. Richard (Sam Claflin), brother of Aliena, struggles to regain the family’s Earldom. Jack’s stepfather, Tom Builder (Rufus Sewell), oversees the construction of the Cathedral, while sinister cleric, Waleran Bigod (Ian McShane), deviously maneuvers to sabotage the project.
